Updating the Permalink

Updating the Permalink

Overview

You may wish to change the title on a page in which case it's good practice to also change the permalink; this is the address of that page that's used in the menu to direct people to the right place.

Method

  1. In the dashboard, go to pages and select the page you wish to edit.

  2. In the change the title as required.

  3. At the end of the permalink box, click edit.  Just delete the text that's in there and click OK; this will autofill the permalink box to reflect the new title of the page.  Don't forget to click update on the page to save your changes.

  4. Now it's time to replace the old permalink text in the signposting pages or top level menu.
    1. If your page links to a signposting page, go to that signposting page and replace the old permalink with the new one. Remember to update the page.

    2. If your page links directly to the top level menu, go to general on the dashboard and then services and information link and update the permalink in there. Remember to update the page.
