Creating Signposting Pages

Creating Signposting Pages

Overview

Signposting Pages focus on navigation. They are designed to guide users to other key sections of the website acting as navigational hubs and providing links to pages

Method

  1. Go to the signposting pages menu item on the dashboard and click "Add new Signposting Page"

  2. Enter the title for the new signposting page in the box at the top

  3.  Enter a title for the first Subsection Title

  4. If you've already created the content pages that you want to add to this, or if you're linking to another website, you can do this now by continuing to follow the next step.  Otherwise, you need to click Update to save your changes and you can then return and complete this later.
  5. Under "Page Links", click "Add Row"
  6. Click "select link"
  7. In the pop up box "Insert/edit link", select the page that you want to add to your signposting page.  This will automatically fill in the URL and Link Text in the upper part of the box.  Check the box "Open link in a new tab".  Click "add link" to confirm this.
  8. Fill in the Link Summary with any additional information about the page that you'll be taken to when clicking the link.
  9. To add more Page Links, just repeat this process by adding more rows, or to add additional subsections click the Add Row within the Subsections box

  10. You now need to add your Signposting Page to the menu to make it discoverable by your website users.
