Transferring contacts from Outlook to your GOV.UK email

This shows the process for exporting contacts from various flavours of Outlook into your Parish Online GOV.UK email.

Export from Outlook.com (web)

  1. Log into your Parish Online GOV.UK webmail (not Outlook.com!)
  2. Click on Contacts in the left-hand panel
  3. Click the three dots menu under "My Contacts" and alongside the + button (see screenshot below)
  4. Click Import
  5. Click Microsoft
  6. Select an account (this should be your outlook.com account)
  7. Give permission to the process by clicking Accept
You'll get a notification for how many contacts have been imported




Export from Outlook Desktop (Classic)

  1. Open Outlook desktop
  2. Click on People in the left-hand panel (it may be hidden under a little 4 blocks icon)
  3. Click File
  4. Click Save As
  5. Select VCF
  6. Give the file a name
  7. Click Save
This saves a VCF file you can use to import in the next step

Import

  1. Log into your Parish Online GOV.UK webmail
  2. Click on Contacts in the left-hand panel
  3. Click the three dots menu under "My Contacts" and alongside the + button (see screenshot below)
