Plotting Public Rights of Way Issues and Signage
Overview
Found under the "PROW Management" collection, there are two layers to help when it comes to surveying and protecting vital public rights of way.

When using these layers, remember you can use Geolocation (
Using Geolocation (GPS Positioning)) to use your phone GPS position as the plotted position. And you can add photo attachments as you save.

These layers are Collaborative, meaning other local councils can see what you've added. Likewise, you can see what others have plotted, aiding your efforts to improve the state of PROWs
PROW Signage layer

The PROW Signage layer allows you to plot the locations of signage along a PROW. The layer allows you to plot:
- Sign Type (this defines the styling)
- Byway Open to All Traffic (BOAT)
- Permissive Footpath
- Public Bridleway
- Public Cycle Path Arrow
- Public Cycle Path Icon
- Public Footpath
- Restricted Byway
- Red Arrow
- Yellow Arrow
- Orientation (this affects the styling by rotating icons)
- Enter a value representing the compass direction in degrees. You can use either:
- -180 to 180
- 0 - 360
- Values outside of these ranges will still work but aren't advised
- Condition State
- Good, easily readable
- Good but dirty
- Fair, faded
- Bad, unreadable
- Missing
- Mounted on
- Post
- Fence
- Tree
- Metal Pole
- Other
- Inspected Date
- This is a drop-down date value
- Notes
- A place for any other notes needed
PROW Issue Layer
The PROW Issue layer allows you to plot the locations of issues along a route. The layer allows you to plot:
- Issue Type (this defines the styling)
- Accessibility Issue for Disabled People
- Crop Issue
- Damaged Gate
- Damaged Stile
- Fencing Issue
- Flooding / Drainage Issue
- Litter or Fly Tipping
- Livestock / Animal Issue
- Locked Gate
- Signage Issue
- Surface Issues
- Vegetation Overgrown
- Other
- ROW ID
- Use this to enter the ID of the route, useful for sending reports
- Status (this affects the styling by changing resolved items to a small green icon, reducing map clutter)
- Unresolved
- Resolved
- Unable to Resolve
- Description
- Free text box
- Severity
- Severe
- Major
- Minor
- Date Reported
- Drop-down date field
- Date Resolved
