How can I see which addresses have been added or changed?
The Address layer, found under the Addresses collection, contains lots of information about each property, but it can be time-consuming to sift through it all.
That's why we've created a separate layer called Addresses - Recent Changes which is also within the Addresses collection. It is a filtered version of the Address data that only shows addresses that have had updates in the last 3 months.
The layer has different coloured points based on the sort of change that has happened. Here's a key:
- New Addresses. Hopefully self-explanatory. This is where a new address has been added to the database. Most likely a new-build.
- Modified Attributes. The address has had some changes to the information stored about it. This is more common with newer properties where the postcodes are being applied to the address or the street names are being finalised. So you're likely to see clusters of these.
- Modified Geometry and Attributes. This is the same as above, but as well as attribution, the position of the point has changed. This is usually when a more accurate position of a new property is surveyed and the Local Authority update the position so it's more accurate.
- Moved From a Different Feature Type. This is usually flagged when a property is relatively new, or one that's changed from Residential to Commercial, or vice-versa.
You can view this layer on its own, or switch it on with the address layer. This creates a nice halo effect where recently modified addresses show up:
