Creating a hole in a shape
Overview
There are occasions where you want to draw out an area but there are sections within it that you don't want to include. In this example, it's a piece of land that has a duck pond within it. For grass cutting contracts we don't want to include the pond itself in the area calculation. So, we can cut a shape out of it, just like a cookie cutter
Method
- Select the feature on the map (it will pulse in blue)
- Click the Edit icon in the left-hand panel
- Click the Cookie Cutter icon
- Draw out the area you want removed from the feature
- If there are more to add, repeat from Step 3.
- Click Save
Removing a Hole
If you want to remove a hole from a feature, go back into Editing mode (steps 1 and 2 previously), hover over the area you want to remove and click the Bin icon. Then save.
